STREET INSTALLATION BARCELONA
Public Installation Design, DEIA School of Art and Design Barcelona 2015
The temporary installation in a public space in Barcelona should point out the problem of digital dependency we have nowadays.
Pedestrians were invited to participate. After entering the maze, the participants had to answer question of their daily use of internet and mobile phones shown on posters within the installation. The answers ‘yes’ and ‘no’ set the direction of movement. The colours of the cords which led to one of the four exits illustrated the participants level of digital dependency. The frequency of results could be seen trough coloured stamps on a board at the exit of the maze. Red illustrates the highest level of digital dependy in daily life whereas green illustrates the lowest.
The maze was designed with fewest material and can be build and remove easily.
